20221027: @University of Chicago Industry Day

NUMO_UChiIndustryDay

Industry Day 2022 at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME). The theme for this year was Emerging Technologies for Sustainability and Health.

According to Dr. Felix Lu, the motivation for this type of event is, at the core, an opportunity to expand awareness and find alignment with industry leaders on concepts, tools, and approaches within grand challenges in future innovation using quantum scale and molecular technologies.

PME is the first school of its kind in the nation that will drive significant change in applied science, advanced solutions-based research and education aimed at addressing some of humanity’s most pressing challenges and also be the catalyst for disruption using emerging technologies.

It uses a challenge-based approach rather than a discipline-based curriculum for its courseware where students are encouraged to team up across multiple different domains and with industry partners to learn, research and ideate new solutions. It coordinates with other UChicago schools – MRSEC, DSI,  , The University of Chicago Booth School of Business , and Argonne National Laboratory to provide for a holistic understanding of science coupled with business acumen.

We at Numorpho Cybernetic Systems (NUMO) would like to thank Dr. Lu, the PME faculty and students for inviting us to the event. We enjoyed the keynotes, plenary sessions and the poster presentations by PME, the students and industry experts, and the round table discussions. We look forward to a more engaging relationship with PME and University of Chicago in the days, months and years to come as we extend our current basis to be in the forefront of humanity’s technological progression as a civilization. Our goal would be to utilize PME’s lens to look at materials science from the eye of the molecule and use experiential research to create compelling products and solutions for the future.
